431 Falling Leaves Scarf431 Falling Leaves Scarf

An elegant reversible scarf. It may be worked straight or shaped ascot fashion, both styles have a delightful undulating edge. It is worked as single piece with minimal finishing.

The design is adaptable to many yarn weights; the heavier the yarn the fewer repeats will be required to make a scarf of an appropriate width and length, the finer the yarn the greater the detail. Any luxury fibre, wool or cashmere yarns would give a very soft scarf.

The amount of yarn required wil vary according to the dimensions of your scarf, but by recording the amount used after the Increase section is complete, an equal amount may be reserved to finish the scarf and all remaining yarn can then be used in whole repeats in the central section.

For a DK/Sport , 5 leaf width, 40" straight scarf allow 160m wool.

For a fingering weight yarn, 7 leaf, 40" straight scarf allow 320m wool.
